Never Forget Garden Veterans Memorial Dedication

A new Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial site was dedicated Tuesday morning at Veterans Park in College Station. The Never Forget Garden Veterans Memorial commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, which is guarded 24/7/365 at its location in the Arlington National Cemetery. Keynote speaker Roy May Jr. is a former Sentinel Guard for the Tomb of the Unknown Solider. “As we gaze upon this monument, let us be reminded of the sacrifices made by those who have gone before us. Let us honor their memory and let us pledge to uphold the values that they fought for and died. For in doing so, we ensure their legacy lives on for generations to come,” said May. Retired Lieutenant General Randy House accepted the memorial as the Chairman of the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Board. “It is fitting tribute to those American service members who paid the ultimate price in service to our country and remain unknown only to their maker,” said House. Three Men Receiving Prison Sentences In Brazos County District Court Criminal Cases

An Arlington man who admitted in Brazos County district court to pointing a gun at a stranger in August 2018 has lost his attempt to stay on probation. 28 year old Torrey Ehnot contested a motion from the district attorney’s office wanting to send him to prison. Court documents that lists 11 probation violations includes a domestic violence incident in December 2023 in Brazoria County and possessing drugs and a gun in Tarrant County in 2021. Ehnot, who had been on probation for almost three years, was sentenced to five years. The College Station police arrest report says Ehnot pointed a gun at a stranger. That followed a verbal argument when the victim took offense to Ehnot’s cat calling of the victim’s girlfriend in the parking lot of an apartment complex. A Washington County man returns to the Brazos County jail to await a transfer to a state prison. That’s after 58 year old Robert Wayne Rogers of Washington and the district attorney’s office reached a plea agreement where Rogers admitted to leaving the scene of a crash in Bryan in January 2021. Rogers admitted to a felony charge of causing a collision of his pickup truck and a motorcyclist 2021 at Highway 21 and West 17th Street. Rogers, who was sentenced to two years, can not appeal the punishment. The BPD arrest report says the victim sustained an ankle injury where he was unable to walk. A Bryan man who entered guilty pleas in March to crimes that took place more than two years ago is returning to prison. Online records show 27 year old Alexander Clay was sentenced to five years for unlawful possession of a gun that was stolen in August of 2021, then three months later threatening to kill the owner of the gun for helping College Station police with their investigation of the theft. Clay previously served time for evading arrest.

Second Arrest By College Station Police Following The Discovery Of Illegal Drugs Inside A Bryan Home

College Station police make a second arrest following the April 23rd search of a Bryan home near Tanglewood Park. 26 year old Alexander Welch is accused of possessing with the intent to sell almost one pound of marijuana in his bedroom. Officers also found text messages between Welch and his roommate about drug sales. Welch’s roommate, 21 year old Daegin Hamilton, was arrested April 23rd after CSPD officers found more than eight pounds of marijuana, more than nine ounces of fraudulent Adderall pills laced with methamphetamine, more than five ounces of cocaine, and vape cartridges containing T-H-C. Welch, who was arrested May 15th, is out of jail after posting a $12,000 dollar bond. Hamilton was released from jail after posting bonds totaling $44,000 dollars. Original story, April 23, 2024: College Station police brought their bomb squad and hostage negotiations team to a Bryan neighborhood Tuesday morning (April 23) before sunrise. CSPD social media says there was a search of a home on Tanglewood Drive near Midwest Drive. A CSPD spokesman confirmed the arrest of 21 year old Daegin Hamilton for possessing between five and 50 pounds of marijuana and possessing with the intent to deliver an undisclosed amount of three unidentified types of controlled substances. CSPD arrest reports say officers seized 8.18 pounds of marijuana, 269.4 grams of fraudulent Adderall pills laced with methamphetamine, 144.1 grams of cocaine, and vape cartridges containing 57 grams of THC. The arrest reports also say Hamilton told officers he “had sold marijuana, Adderall, and cocaine for the last several months” and “admitted knowledge of a large quantity of drugs were located inside the house.” Hamilton was released from jail April 24th after posting bonds totaling $44,000 dollars.
