Donkeys Killed With Bows and Arrows

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) _ Police say they are investigating the deaths of two donkeys that were found shot by bow and arrow in Fort Worth.

The owner of the donkeys said she received a phone call Monday that the animals were lying in a road and not moving, according to Fort Worth police. She said she went to check on them and found them dead.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department game warden Neal Bieler tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (http://bit.ly/o6vX2L ) that his agency is not assisting in the investigation because the case involved domestic animals. Bieler says the incident was “just plain meanness.”

Police said they are investigating as a case of cruelty to animals.
