Divided Bryan City Council Joins CS in Raising Ambulance Rates

Ambulance rates are rising in the twin cities.

The Bryan city council approved the increase asked by College Station on a three to two vote.

Al Saenz joined Rafael Pena in voting no.

Art Hughes joined Ann Horton and Jason Bienski in voting to keep ambulance prices the same in both cities.

City Manager Kean Register says the increase is needed to recover rising expenses.

The council also heard the city wrote off almost $1.5 million dollars in uncollected ambulance charges, which is made up Bryan taxpayers.
