Departing College Station ISD Superintendent Isn’t Ready To Say Goodbye

Departing College Station ISD superintendent Clark Ealy says the holiday break isn’t the end of his work here.

Dr. Ealy said during Tuesday’s CSISD board meeting “this is not the time to say goodbye”, adding “I’ll probably be here for another couple of months”.

His comments follows the board in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD northeast of San Antonio announcing they will vote January seventh to offer Ealy a contract.

That’s the day after CSISD employees return to work and the day before CSISD students return to classes.

Meantime, Ealy will be accompanying the CSISD board to training meetings in Austin during the Christmas break.

That discussion began with Dr. Ealy telling the board to tell him whether he should make the trip.

The board members who responded said they wanted Ealy on the trip, which begins the night of January second and continues through midday on the fourth.

Deputy superintendent Mike Martindale will also be making the trip.

As previously reported, CSISD board president Michael Schaefer said they would finalize their process for selecting a new superintendent following the vote in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City.

The CSISD board met behind closed doors for 57 minutes Tuesday and took no action following executive session. Again, no action was taken afterwards.

That followed a one hour and 40 minute executive session last Thursday, the same day Ealy was announced as the lone finalist for his new position.
