An extended delay on completing new freeway on and off ramps in College Station is due to an issue with manufacturing signs.
But the Texas Department of Transportation district office in Bryan says that is not related to recent changes in federal regulations on the type of lettering that must be used.
This delay means completion of the new northbound ramps between Emerald and Southwest Parkways…originally set for around the first of the year but delayed until mid-February due to heavy rainfall…has been pushed back to mid-April.
Once that is done, construction will begin on new ramps affecting southbound traffic, which is supposed to take three months weather permitting.
Meantime, freeway traffic in Bryan in the northbound lanes between Old Reliance and Highway 21 will be affected by construction of new ramps until at least July.
