The identity of a badly decomposed body found Wednesday night in a pasture between Bryan and Tabor is believed to be a College Station man reported missing three weeks ago.

Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk says there’s a high level of confidence using circumstantial evidence  the victim is 19 year old Santos Ceterino Az Xec.

Kirk says the identification will be confirmed through dental records or familial DNA comparison. An autopsy has been done by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.  Final results are pending completion of toxicology and forensic testing.

Az Xec was last seen December 1 leaving his apartment on Holleman Drive in College Station to work at a restaurant at Post Oak Mall. Family members say his car was still at the apartment complex and he never arrived at work.

A rancher discovered the body about 100 yards from FM 974 near Wagon Wheel Drive.

Kirk says foul play has not been ruled out as sheriff’s investigators are working with College Station Police detectives.
