A Tuesday morning crash on the Earl Rudder Freeway injured three drivers, including a College Station policeman.
Officer Rhonda Seaton says this was in the northbound lanes between Harvey Road and University Drive, where a patrolman was sent to pick up debris.
As the patrol car was nearing a stop a smaller SUV struck the patrol car. Seaton says that’s because a larger SUV struck the smaller one.
Transported to local hospitals for treatement of injuries not believed to be life threatening were Officer James Elkins, 79 year old Lillie Bayless of Caldwell, and 69 year old Laura Striegler of College Station.
Northbound traffic was down to one lane for one hour, and Seaton says Striegler, driving the larger SUV, was cited for failing to control speed.
