Death Of Longtime Texas A&M Administrator Chuck Cargill

A member of the Bryan College Station community who held several key positions during his tenure at Texas A&M passed away on Monday.

Chuck Cargill was A&M’s Director of the University Center, Director of Business Services; and Vice President for Operations…retiring in 1987 as Vice President for Operations Emeritus.

During Cargill’s decades long tenure, the University Theatre complex was created, Easterwood Airport was upgraded, and the Exchange store…the only on campus bookstore…was modernized.

A 1953 A&M graduate, Cargill was also a Brigader General in the Air Force Reserve.

Visitation for Chuck Cargill, who was 87, is Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Hillier Funeral home in Bryan.
