The former occupant of an apartment in north College Station is arrested on a charge of leaving her domesticated black rabbit to die.

According to the College Station police arrest report, 22 year old Taylor Visconti of Midlothian said someone she did not identify was supposed to take care of the rabbit named Binx.

She also told officers she messed up and was concerned that people would think that she was a bad bunny mom.

Visconti was arrested on Tuesday, more than two months after the rabbit was found decomposed with no food or water inside the apartment.

At the time the apartment was searched in January, the officer was told rent had not been paid for six months and utilities were turned off last October.

Visconti was released from jail Wednesday after posting a $5,000 dollar bond on the animal cruelty charge and paying a $476 dollar fine from a traffic case in January 2020.

Online court records also indicate she is awaiting trial on a public intoxication charge that also took place in January 2020.
