Local area traffic management, or traffic calming, is giving Bryan residents an opportunity to reduce speed limits.
Options include, but are not limited to, speed humps, speed tables, speed cushions, roundabouts, median islands and bulb outs.
City consultant Gary Schatz says they will consider requests from individuals who live on the affected streets.
The application deadline is April 1.
Schatz says this gives city staff through the first half of May to conduct traffic studies while schools, including Blinn College, are are still in session.
Those who apply will be told around June 1 if their application has qualified to develop a traffic mitigation plan.
Then residents have until August 1 to submit a petition, and city staff on September 1 will present rankings to the city council for future action.
Schatz says the list of streets for consideration will also be given to the police department for possible targeted enforcement.
