Dallas Man Arrested for Shooting Toddler

DALLAS (AP) _ Police have arrested a man accused of opening fire on a minivan, shooting a toddler in the leg.

Dallas police said Monday that they arrested 31-year-old Carlos Cordova. He is in the Dallas County Jail on charges of injury to a child and aggravated assault. His bonds total $200,000. The jail had no information on an attorney.

Police originally said a bullet grazed the knee of an 11-month-old boy riding in the minivan Sunday night. Authorities now say the bullet fractured the boy’s leg. Police said the boy underwent surgery and is doing well.

The shooting happened late Sunday, when someone fired multiple shots into the driver’s door of vehicle driven by a 22-year-old man. A 22-year-old woman and her three small children were passengers.
