Dallas Area Man Imprisoned on Child Porn Charges

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) _ A suburban Fort Worth man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison without parole after pleading guilty to producing child pornography.

According to a statement from U.S. Attorney James Jacks of Dallas, Thomas James Murphy III of Bedford was sentenced Tuesday for his December guilty plea to the single count. According to the statement, Murphy created pornographic videos and images using two female relatives younger than age 3.

Murphy, 26, has been in federal custody since FBI agents raided his home October 6 and confiscated his computer and related storage media. The staetment says Murphy admitted his deed, and a search turned up material involving Murphy and the two girls.

Aside from the prison sentence, U.S. District Judge Terry Means of Fort Worth also ordered Murphy to serve a lifetime of supervised release.
