CVB Asking For Financial Assistance For Natatorium Feasibility Study

For the last five months, the B/CS Convention and Visitors Bureau has had a task force laying the foundation to study the feasibility of a new natatorium to serve both cities.

The College Station school board was the first to be asked to contribute to paying a consultant. No vote was taken during last week’s meeting.

The request is not included in the agendas for this week’s Bryan and College Station city council meetings.

CVB president Shannon Overby says the timeline is relatively quick, in order to share findings to the school boards and city councils in Bryan and College Station by mid to late August.

The task force is made up of representatives from both cities, both school districts, and the local swimming community. Overby says the task force has four consultants interested in doing the study, which would include community input.
