ANGLETON, Texas (AP) _ Authorities have arrested 10 current and two former students of a Southeast Texas high school on drug charges after a four-month investigation in which an undercover officer posed as a fellow student.
The 10 current students from Angleton High School were arrested on campus Wednesday, while the two ex-students were taken into custody off-campus.
In a letter to parents, Angleton school district officials said the students are accused of selling marijuana and prescription medications.
Officials say a total of 28 drug charges were filed against the suspects. Five of the 10 current students and both former students arrested are adults.
The investigation was a joint project of the Angleton Independent School District, its police department and the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office. Angleton is located about 45 miles south of Houston.
