On Monday, May 2, 2016 at about 0133, Officers with the College Station Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of University Drive, the Northgate Entertainment District, for a report of an aggravated assault. When Officers arrived, a male subject was pointed out through secondhand information as one who had displayed a knife, threatening another subject. The male who allegedly displayed the knife in a threatening manner was identified but, despite Officers exhaustively searching the area, no victim or witnesses to the actual incident were found. Without being able to prove any offense occurred, the Officers asked the subject to leave the area and he complied.
Shortly after the subject left the area of Northgate, a victim was finally found. He was identified as an employee of a nearby bar. The victim reported that before Officers had arrived, he had escorted the subject out of the bar due to his behavior and his level of intoxication. Once outside, the subject displayed a folding knife in a threatening manner towards the victim. After not being able to coax the victim into a physical altercation, the subject put the knife away and left the area.
Officers were unable to track the subject down again after learning of this new information.
The case was turned over to the College Station Police Department Criminal Investigation Division for further investigation.
