CSPD Halloween Safety Tips

The College Station Police Department used their regular weekly radio show to send out some Halloween safety reminders.

Click to hear WTAW’s Chris Clift talk with Lt. Craig Anderson:

Anderson says good common sense will serve you well on Halloween – try to head out during daylight hours, keep parents and kids together, don’t cut through parks or backyards to ensure parents can find older kids on their route if needed.

Anderson also says costume safety is important – make sure your child is not wearing a mask that restricts breathing and/or vision, and put reflective strips on your child’s costume to ensure passing motorists can see them.

He also reminds mom and dad to keep kids in neighborhoods you know and inspect all treats – especially those that are homemade, not in their original wrapper, or things like fruit.
