CS Police Car Hit & Officers Resolve Juvenile Standoff

The 5 o’clock hour Tuesday afternoon had lots of College Station police officers tied up on two events.

One was a crash involving one of their patrol vehicles. This was at the entrance to Wal-Mart off Texas south of Harvey Mitchell Parkway. Witnesses say someone trying to make a left turn from the Wal-Mart drive to Texas was waved to go ahead around a semi that was blocking their view. That vehicle struck the passenger side of the patrol unit on Texas that was going red light and siren. The officer was not hurt and the other driver refused medical treatment for minor injuries.

At virtually the same time, other officers were in the Southern Plantation neighborhood off Barron Road. They were outside a home on Strasburg Circle where a young man had threatened himself and his father with a knife. The standoff ended with no one being hurt and the juvenile being arrested for aggravated assault.
