CS Council Approves Rebuilding Royder Road

Motorists dealing with congestion around the south College Station intersection of Greens Prairie Trail and Royder Road will be getting some relief.

The city council at its last meeting approved rebuilding Royder north of that intersection so it bends into Wellborn Road.

Steve Aldrich, while voting yes, criticized city staff for not taking their recommendations first to the Wellborn community.

John Nichols noted this will give motorists two ways to get to Wellborn Road from the existing elementary school, and new intermediate and middle schools.

The council’s unanimous vote followed two failed attempts to delay any action until after a community meeting or until January, when the council has three new members.

The council delayed action on several other proposed changes until staff received feedback from Wellborn area residents.
