Two years of work went into changes at College Station cemeteries that have approved by the city council.
Committee Chairman Weldon Kruger says they unanimously voted twice to stop taking variance requests and limit the number of items per grave space to two.

City spokesman Ross Albright says cemetery regulations also calls for flexibility allowing for more than two items at certain times.

Mayor Nancy Berry asked the committee what they thought of reserving areas of the new memorial cemetery for monuments that did not meet city restrictions. Committee member Sarah Adams says the majority opinion is leaving monument sizes alone.
