College Station residents have two more opportunties to voice their opinion about when to hold future elections of city council members.
The council’s charter review commission meets Wednesday afternoon for its second public hearing. The advisory body previously voted to ask voters to keep municipal elections in May but move them to odd numbered years and expand council terms to four years.
The advisory body, chaired by former Mayor Lynn McIlhaney, is already on record recommending to keep May elections to avoid partisan competition in November.
McIlhaney also says this would be the only charter question facing College Station voters in November, due to the length of time necessary to educate voters.
Comments from Lynn McIlhaney.
Brian Bochner, another member of the advisory committee, says the number of voters on municipal questions in the last two November elections were less than those who voted on partisan issues on the same ballot.

Wednesday’s charter advisory committee meeting starts at 4 p.m. at College Station City Hall.
