CS Bomb Squad Destroys Suspicious Texas A&M Admissions Application Package

Someone who wants to attend Texas A&M went too far with the application package they mailed to the admissions office.

University police Lt. Allan Baron says the College Station bomb squad was called out to the General Services building Thursday morning on the report of a suspicious package.

Baron says employees saw wires inside the package, along with a note that read “Flip Switch.”

Investigators learned the package contained a string of battery operated lights, which was designed to draw attention to the admissions application.

Baron says application packets should contain only the paperwork required by the university.

The building was evacuated for two hours and a Code Maroon alert was issued for the campus community.
