College Station Animal Control is looking for a large brown dog that bit a 12 year old boy Thursday evening in the area of Bougainvillea and Wild Plum. The pre-teen did not realize he had been bitten until he returned home.
The boy was skateboarding with family members Thursday about 5:30 p.m. when the dog broke off its leash and began jumping on the youngster in a playful manner. The woman walking the dog regained control of her pet, apologized to the children, and started walking towards the Schaffer subdivision. When the boy returned home he discovered a puncture wound.
The owner was described as a young adult female wearing a black ski mask and a blue hooded sweatshirt, making it difficult for the victim to identify her any further. She was also reportedly walking a small breed, gray and white, curly-haired dog.
College Station Animal Control is asking for help from the public to locate the dog so rabies exposure to the young male can be ruled out. When located, the dog will need to be observed for ten days from the time of the bite for signs of rabies infection. If you have any information about this case, please call 979-764-3600.
