61 year old Charles Ray Craddock is also in jail on a charge of violating parole.
According to the arrest report, deputies who were given permission to search the home between the Navasota River and Highway 6, and between Millican and Navasota, found four rifles, a loaded handgun, and methamphetamine.
The arrest report noted Craddock was released on parole almost six years ago after he was sentenced in August 1990 to 45 years for a Brazos County murder that took place in June of 1989.
The Bryan City Council is scheduled to hold four public hearings at Tuesday’s City Council Meeting. The meeting will convene at 5:30pm inside council chambers at 300 Texas Ave, Bryan, TX 77803. The first three hearings will be rezoning items. The fourth will discuss the proposed tax rate of $0.624 per $100 of a home’s value. The rezoning items are: 600 Woodson Drive (2.21 acres of vacant land adjoining the north side of Woodson Drive between College Main and Oaklawn Streets). Amend the previously-approved Planned Development District to revise the concept drawings and physical development standards. 1.05 acres of vacant land at the southwest corner of Tabor Road and Siegert Drive, being Lots 6 through 8 in Block 2 of the Siegert Subdivision. Change the zoning classification from Residential District to Multi-Family Residential. 2.208 acres of land out of the Maria Kegan Survey, Abstract No. 28, adjoining the northeast side of State Highway 30, 850 feet to 1,080 feet southeast of its intersection with G. Rollie White Road. Change the zoning classification from Agricultural – Open District to Commercial District. There is an item on the consent/automatic approval agenda that is particularly interesting. Agenda Item P is an amendment to increase the FY 2026 budget by $32,050,000 ($548,670,400 to $580,720,400). The documents show that the city needs to add the $32-million in unbudgeted expenses for items such as: $7-million on employee benefits, $7-million on BTU-rural, and $10-million on the American Rescue Plan Act Fund. A man was arrested early Monday after a fight outside a Bryan sports bar. Bryan Police received reports of a hit-and-run involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the El Centenario Sports Bar in the 1200 block of West William J. Bryan Parkway just after 2:00am Monday morning. The victim has been in a fight with two men. Those men, 27-year-old Alex Gaytan and 30-year-old John Manuel Gaytan, III, both of Bryan, headed to their pickup to leave. The victim then chased them down and punched the passenger window of their Chevrolet Silverado. That’s when the driver, Alex Gaytan, put his truck into reverse where the victim was knocked to the ground by the sideview mirror and then run over. Guytan then drove forward, running over the victim a second time, before fleeing the scene. The victim’s arm and leg were run over and he was transported to St. Joseph’s hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Video from a nearby business confirmed the events. The men were located about 20 minutes later in the 6400 block of Old Spanish Trail. Alex Gaytan was arrested for Collision Involving Serious Bodily Injury. He was released on $15,000 bond.
