Consultant Recommends Dozens of Changes at A&M System

A study commissioned last fall by the Texas A&M System means the elimination of 30 positions system-wide.

Some of the jobs will be cut through attrition, while some of the affected employees will find work elsewhere in the A&M System because of the recent multimillion dollar biopharmaceutical grant from the federal government.

Seven employees, however, are losing their jobs.

The study from MGT America was commissioned, according to the System, to identify ways to improve efficiency by identifying changes to business practices, organizational structures, staffing, and expenditures.

It isn’t clear how many of the more than 50 recommendations will be implemented.

System officials say managers are looking at which ones can be implemented to improve efficiency. The timing of the implementations will vary based on need and opportunity.
