Consolidated HS Band Helping Family Following House Fire

A south College Station family was displaced from their home due to a fire Wednesday afternoon.

Cheryl and Pete Munoz, who own the home, co-chair the Aggie Flag fundraising program at Consolidated High School.

Ana Maria Norris of the band boosters says very few flags were lost and should be replaced by the next Aggie home football game.

Norris says benefits for the Munoz family include taking donations of cash and gift cards at Friday night’s Consolidated football game and a PayPal account on the band boosters website.

Ana Maria Norris visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.

AMCHS Band Boosters has set up donations on their website, via PayPal, for the Munoz family who have been displaced by a house fire on Wednesday evening. Michael Munoz is a Junior who plays tenor saxophone with the Tiger Band. His parents, Pete & Cheryl Munoz are the Aggie Flag Chairs. In this capacity, Pete & Cheryl Munoz are invaluable in the fundraising efforts for our band programs. They manage, oversee, & organize routes for almost 1800 Aggie flags that are placed around town for A&M home games. This Aggie Flag fundraiser is the largest band booster fundraiser and brings in much needed dollars for the band programs & band kids of AMCHS, AMCMS & Oakwood Intermediate schools.

In addition, AMCHS Band Boosters has received permission to set-up a donations table at the Tiger home football game tomorrow. Cash, gift cards, or checks will be accepted. Please make checks payable to AMCHS Band Boosters and write-in on memo line: Munoz family. Band Boosters will collect all monies to present to the Munoz family. Donations can also be mailed to AMCHS Band Boosters at P.O. Box 11063, College Station 77841.
