Congressman Flores Comments on Proposed Federal Transportation Bill

Congress, in addition to extending unemployment benefits and a payroll tax cut, is scheduled this week for action on a new federal transportation program.

Congressman Bill Flores says he likes most of what he reads in a proposed federal transportation bill. But he says he’s still not ready to give his formal support.

On WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, Flores says what he wants is a long term bill that is funded at adequate levels that uses revenue from the federal gas tax in an appropriate manner, give states more involvement and feds less, and strips out projects that are not dedicated to highways such as bike paths, cobblestone streets, and covered bridges.

Congressman Bill Flores visits with WTAW’s Scott DeLucia.
