Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley Announces Grant Recipients & 2017 Tribute Luncheon Honorees

The Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley (CFBV) has announced awarding six grants to local non-profits and three people who will be honored next April at the organization’s 2017 Tribute Luncheon.

CFBV president Patricia Gerling says the grant recipients are (1) Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach for new software and computer upgrades, (2) Brazos Valley Personal Energy Transporters through Bryan’s First United Methodist Church purchasing a welding machine, (3) Bryan Noon Lions Club purchasing screening equipment for children six and under before they start school, (4) Catholic Charities of Central Texas to purchase technology and educational materials for parenting classes in Bryan, (5) Easter Seals purchasing a replacement “flying trapeze” used in children’s occupational therapy, and (6) Family Promise B/CS combining a the CFBV grant with a large private gift and another grant towards the purchase of a temporary family shelter.

Gerling says the Tribute Luncheon on April 24th will honor Texas A&M women’s basketball head coach Gary Blair, Celia Goode-Haddock of University Title Company, and Larry Hodges, the owner of Copy Corner and multiple Double Dave’s Pizzaworks locations in the twin cities. Ticket information will be announced at a later date for the luncheon.
