Committee Formed To Address RVP Bylaw Changes

The Research Valley Partnership (RVP) economic development agency has received all its local funding for the new fiscal year.

The Bryan city council voted 4-3 after an attempt to delay failed by the same margin. Mike Southerland was not successful in postponing the vote until after the RVP executive board was expanded to include a council representative.

Bryan mayor Jason Bienski says the RVP formed a committee to address the issue. The committee includes Bienski, College Station mayor Nancy Berry, Brazos County judge Duane Peters, and the chairman of RVP’s executive board Mark Humphrey.

Mayor Berry, on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, says action could take place as early as next month by the RVP and the three governmental agencies to change the agency’s bylaws.
