A College Station man’s 21st time in the Brazos County jail in nine years began with speeding and ended with a College Station policeman pointing a gun at him while he was holding a baby.

According to the arrest report, the officer was involved in a low risk chase with a vehicle that did not stop after being clocked at 36 miles an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone.

The vehicle pulled into a driveway and the driver ran inside his home holding a baby.

The officer kicked in in the door to enter the home, and due to the potential of firearms being inside the home, the officer drew his pistol and told the driver to stop.

The driver, who was still holding the baby, ran into a back bedroom then came out without the child.

31 year old Darryl Thompson was arrested for child endangerment, evading arrest with a prior conviction, and fleeing from a police officer.

Thompson is also in jail on an unidentified parole violation.

The arrest report does not state who has custody of the baby.
