College Station Man Escapes Life Threatening Injuries After His Car Is Hit By A Train

A College Station man escaped life threatening injuries Monday morning after a train hit his car near the Burleson-Washington county line.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reports the collision was on a Burleson County road in Clay, when the southbound car driven by 19 year old Robert Franklin was struck by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) train.

BNSF reports no injuries on board the train, which was headed to Somerville from Silsbee.

The train did not derail and nothing was spilled.

The crossing has a yield sign and no crossing arms.
