UPDATE 8:30 a.m.
Bryan police have reopened northbound lanes of Rudder Freeway in Bryan.
According to a BPD news release, an SUV was traveling north on the highway when it left the roadway striking a concrete pillar.
The driver, Ricardo Gonzalez, age 44 of College Station, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.
The roadway was closed for about four hours.

A fatality crash closes a portion of Rudder Freeway in Bryan during the Monday morning commute.
Bryan police reported the a single vehicle mishap at 4:40 a.m. in the northbound lanes at the Old Reliance/MLK exit.
That resulted in northbound traffic exiting at the William Joel Bryan exit and taking the service road past the crash.
BPD has not released any other information.
