College Station Man Arrested For Drugs, DWI, and Prohibited Weapon

A College Station man was arrested late last night for driving while intoxicated, drug possession, unlawful carrying of weapon, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

College Station Patrol Sergeant Roy Shelton says several people reported a man walking in the street with a rifle on McFarland Drive in the Southern Trace area, and that resulted in police locating 34-year-old Traynham Davenport.

Shelton says Davenport fled in a car, and once he was stopped several miles away, they found pills and marijuana, firearms, and a butterfly knife.

On 03/20/13, at about 2300 hours, officers with the College Station Police Department responded to the 4100 block of McFarland Drive.

Several people reported seeing a male, possibly carrying a rifle, walking in the roadway.  Prior to the officer’s arrival the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

Investigating officers were given a description of the suspect vehicle and were able to locate the vehicle several miles from the scene.

Through further investigation, the driver/suspect was found to be intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle.

Inside the vehicle officers found multiple firearms, a prohibited weapon, and several controlled substances.

The driver was subsequently arrested.

The original call that the officers responded to is under investigation, case number 13-003139.

The suspect in this case was identified as:

Traynham Harper Davenport

W/M  34 years old

College Station, TX resident

Davenport was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance X3.

He was also charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Marijuana.
