Construction starts soon on another part of College Station ISD’s bond issue from November 2023.

A $12 million dollar contract for improvements at middle school stadiums was awarded at the September regular meeting of the CSISD school board.

CSISD facilities director Paul Buckner says the work to begin after the fall sports season includes converting grass football fields to artificial turf at all three middle schools.

Track surfaces will be replaced at Wellborn and College Station middle schools. Buckner says a large contingency was added to that part of the budget.

Consolidated and College Station middle schools are getting new concession and restroom buildings and an expansion of the concession/restroom building takes place at Wellborn.

The contract also includes additional seating at all three middle schools.

Stadium lighting is being replaced at Consolidated and College Station middle schools.

The contract also includes new security fencing that will be paid from a safety grant.
