College Station ISD school board members received some positive budget news.

The board at its August regular meeting approved recommendations from CSISD’s new chief financial officer, Heather Wilson that reduces the cost of property and casualty insurance by $302,877 dollars.

That represents a 10.5 percent decrease from the year before. That is compared with a 39.9 percent increase in the prior year.

Wilson credited the lower rate to receiving 61 proposals to insure the district’s assets that totals more than $626 million dollars.
