Despite a growing population, drought, and triple digit temperatures, water consumption in College Station is down compared to two years ago.
That’s one of the arguments city staff will make Thursday in a public hearing before the Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District.
Water Services Director Dave Coleman says some on the board don’t want to renew two city water wells despite attempts to reduce consumption through conservation and recycling.
