Here is another reminder from the College Station fire department to check your appliances and take care of lint filters and H-VAC filters.

Firefighters called out at 6:30 Tuesday morning to a house fire on Williams Lake Drive discovered a burning smell was from the H-VAC system.

Another structure fire call, to Fraternity Row, was smoke coming from an overheated washing machine.

CSFD has also responded to three reports of natural gas line leaks. Atmos Energy responded to repair a line on Peyton that was struck. A crew from CSFD station one determined there was no natural gas service to buildings on Holik. That’s after a resident smelled gas on the landing of his apartment. And a resident on Laura called after smelling gas in his home and suspected it was coming from the H-VAC system.
