Law enforcement activity during the Texas A&M-University of Texas football weekend included 34 incidents involving public intoxication. College Station police arrest reports shows 19 public intoxication arrests in the Northgate district on Friday and Saturday night (November 29 and 30). On game day in and outside Kyle Field, Texas A&M police, a Bryan police officer, and a precinct three deputy constable combined for 15 people either being arrested or being ejected from the stadium for public intoxication. Before Saturday’s game, Texas A&M police tweeted details of a university rules violation before the game involving a man and his dog riding a longhorn and another man riding a horse. Both men agreed to leave campus. During Saturday’s game, Texas A&M police arrested two men after getting in the game without tickets. They used fake construction credentials and were wearing reflective vests and hard hats. Both were charged with criminal trespassing. After Saturday’s game, a man on a concourse one floor above a Texas A&M officer poured a beer and spit on the officer. 21 year old Colton Smith of Orange was arrested for felony assault against a police officer, harassment of a public servant, and public intoxication. Smith remained in jail as of December 1st in lieu of bonds totaling $23,000 dollars. College Station police arrest reports from Friday and Saturday nights in the Northgate districts include 27 arrests for disorderly conduct and seven for resisting arrest. There was only one disorderly conduct incident where there was a mention of the A&M-Texas football game. From all the CSPD weekend arrest reports at Northgate, where 61 people were arrested, there were references to only three people issued tickets for minor in possession in alcohol and two for giving alcohol to a minor. Saturday during the midnight hour on University in the Northgate district, the driver of a Corvette that ran out of gas was arrested for possessing a vape pen containing THC and misdemeanor of marijuana. Former Texas A&M football player Isaiah Spiller was released from jail after posting bonds totaling $9,000 dollars. Spiller told College Station police according to CSPD arrest reports that he bought $30 dollars of marijuana from someone in Houston and that he was holding the vape pen for his girlfriend. The arrest reports do not say what happened to the Corvette.
