College Station Council Hears From Lick Creek Park Visitors Upset With Sewer Line Construction

The $11 million dollar construction of a new sewer line through College Station’s Lick Creek Park drew the ire of five speakers during the public comment period of the last College Station city council meeting.

Speakers included individuals who frequent the park, along with representatives of the Brazos Valley chapter of Texas Master Naturalists and the Rio Brazos Audubon Society.

City Manager Bryan Woods told the council that staff has been in contact with some of the speakers.

The new line, using either 48 or 54 inch PVC pipe, is being built parallel to an existing line through Pebble Creek golf course and Lick Creek Park to the Lick Creek wastewater treatment plan.

Construction is supposed to be completed by the end of next year, weather permitting.
