College Station Council Considering Bird Blinds At Lick Creek Park

The College Station city council is looking at spending $80,000 to $100,000 dollars to build bird blinds at Lick Creek Park.

The proposal from councilman John Crompton also has the support of the local Audubon Society and Texas master naturalists.

Mayor Karl Mooney hears the most citizen comments regarding parks, about Lick Creek Park.

Councilman Dennis Maloney was among those supporting the idea if they can find the money.

The council was told hotel occupancy tax money could not be used.

Parks director Steve Wright talked about College Station pursuing a Bird City U.S.A. designation, which could lead to applying for grants.
