College Station Council Collects $1 Million Dollars Towards Phase Two Of Fun For All Playground

The College Station city council Monday night collected just over $1 million dollars towards phase two of the Fun For All playground for visitors with special needs.

Playground committee member David Gerling spoke before the committee presented a check for $875,000 dollars, that provides some of the phase two funding.

Mayor Karl Mooney accepted the check on behalf of the council.

The council also approved nearly $150,000 dollars in city parkland dedication money to phase two, which weather permitting is expected to open this August.

Concrete was poured last week on phase two, which includes the John David and Carolyn Crow memorial field, two wheelchair accessible merry go rounds, and a sensory panel maze containing bright colors.
