College Station Council Approves Zoning Change For New Senior Medical Campus

College Station’s medical district is gaining a new facility.

That’s after the city council approved zoning changes for a senior skilled nursing facility east of Baylor-Scott & White hospital at Rock Prairie Road and Medical Avenue.

There were no comments during the council meeting, but it was discussed during the planning and zoning commission’s public hearing a month ago.

Developer Larry Parker of Tyler says there will be at least 116 beds on the one building campus that will offer physical, speech, and occupational therapy services.

He also said it would not include a drug treatment program.

No timeline was given as to when construction will begin.
