College Station Council Agrees To Out Of Court Settlement

The College Station city council has agreed to settle a lawsuit out of court.

The only comment was the motion read by councilwoman Blanche Brick at the council’s last meeting. The council unanimously voted to authorize City Manager Kelly Templin to settle the lawsuit entitled Conrad Edward Juliao v. City of College Station in an amount not to exceed $215,000 dollars.

Online court records do not indicate whether the plaintiff has agreed to the settlement.

Juliao originally sought damages of almost $306,000 dollars after the vehicle he was driving was rear-ended by what he described as a city boom truck headed to the dump with a full load.

Juliao says he was stopped on Highway 30 in March of 2014 due to a vehicle fire ahead of him.

He was previously paid more than $14,000 dollars to repair his vehicle.
