Three weeks after a local bicyclist was struck and killed just outside of south College Station, the city council refers the issue of cyclist safety to their transportation committee.
That’s after nine local cyclists asked the council for assistance following the death of Ken Spence.
Requests included more enforcement of current traffic laws, a new “safe passing” ordinance, warning signs with flashing lights, designating local streets with slow speeds as a bicycle loop, and building a specialized bicycle park.
