The city council voted at its last meeting for one site for early voting and one location on election day.

A graduating senior at Texas A&M who lives on campus, Preston Cunha of College Station, was unsuccessful in getting the council to add the memorial student center as a voting location.

Preston made no reference to his mother, Elizabeth Cunha, who is one of the candidates in the special election.

Councilman John Nichols said Preston Cunha raised a concern, but Nichols said adding a voting location would have delayed the election schedule.

Nichols also noted Election Day voting on January 28th is at city hall, which is across Texas Avenue from the main campus.

Early voting will take place January 13th through the 24th at College Station Utilities training facility on Graham Road.

The voter registration deadline is December 30th.
