The College Station city council rejects seven proposals from companies interested in building a power plant fueled by natural gas.
Electric utility director Timothy Crabb told the council during last Thursday’s meeting (September 26) that funding could have come from a $5 billion dollar state grant.
Crabb said the bids expired while the city was looking for a location to build the plant.
Then Crabb told councilman Bob Yancy “We’re still looking at future needs for electric power and we’re looking at various options on that” and that “generation (of power) has always been a thought.”
