Since 2015, a local developer has been working on a multi family housing and commercial project across FM 60 from Easterwood Airport along Turkey Creek Road.

Having planned to pay the city of College Station $213,000 dollars in impact fees, Caldwell Companies successfully appealed to the city council not having to pay another $257,000 under a new rate schedule.

The five to one vote followed one hour of discussion from city staff, council members, and Caldwell representatives.

The final vote followed a motion from mayor John Nichols to deny the appeal, which died for the lack of a second.

Nichols made the lone vote against the appeal.
