More apartments are coming to the College Station block south of Texas A&M’s west campus.

That’s after the city council at last week’s meeting approved rezoning in the block bordered by Holleman West, Marion Pugh, Jones-Butler, and Luther.

A spokesman for the developer, Kyle Steingreaber, expects the project to include 30 units with five bedrooms.

In response to a council question, staff planner Robin Macias said street projects to shorten traffic backups on Holleman that are up to one mile long includes a roundabout at Holleman and Jones-Butler and improvements on Wellborn Road and Luther.

The rezoning was unanimously approved by the council and unanimously recommended by College Station’s planning and zoning commission.
