The College Station city council’s first meeting in 2026 includes a request to rename a portion of Church Avenue in the Northgate District.

Agenda material for Thursday’s meeting (January 8) says the request comes from representatives of The Stack at Legacy Point development.

The north-south portion of Church, beginning at University, would be renamed Legacy Point Drive. The renamed street is in the process of being extended to College Avenue.

There is no change to the name of the east-west portion of Church Avenue.

The proposed ordinance says no current property addresses will need to change.

The proposed ordinance also says the name change is supported by the Brazos County 9-1-1 district.
