College Station city council members have approved four contracts with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Only one drew any council questions. Capital projects director Emily Fisher explained how the city will continue landscaping maintenance at two locations. One is after TxDOT adds a center median along George Bush Drive between Texas Avenue and Harvey Mitchell Parkway. The other is after TxDOT completes the widening of Harvey Mitchell Parkway from Holleman Drive to north of Raymond Stotzer Parkway.

The other contracts involve new traffic signals at three College Station intersections. Signals will be replaced at Holleman and Wellborn as part of a larger improvement project where construction is scheduled to start early next year. Signals are also being replaced at Texas and New Main, and new signals are coming to University and Nimitz. Those projects are not scheduled to start until April 2021.
