The College Station city council’s May 18th meeting included approving agreements for designing a new splashpad and adding sidewalks.
The new splashpad is being added outside of Lincoln recreation center. Federal grant money is paying for the $145,000 dollar design. Later this year, the council will be asked to spend parkland dedication money to pay for construction.

The new sidewalks are coming to two of three sides of a College Station apartment complex along portions of Holleman Drive and Anderson Street. The cost sharing agreement the council approved with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has the city budgeting $245,000 to acquire the land and design the sidewalks. TxDOT is picking up the construction cost that is estimated at about $346,000 dollars.
